Hey readers! As many of you know Paul has been working on a spec house in the Hollywood Hills. We did a sneak peak of this house a couple weeks back but today we're excited to show you the first stop on the final house tour, the kitchen! (drum roll, please!)
The kitchen is front and center in this home. As you can see in the image above, the front door leads to directly into the main part of the open floor plan and directly into the kitchen. A lot of clients request an open plan and like the good flow and flexibility that it brings. Nowadays the kitchen is the 'heart' and 'soul' of a home. Rather than being closed off and hidden from view, it's now much more pronounced and celebrated. High end materials that almost read as pieces of furniture are used in lieu of more utilitarian materials. (Formica, anyone?! Blue counter tops in your childhood home? Us too!) This lets the open kitchen seamlessly blend in with the adjacent rooms. Paul worked hard with the cabinet finishers and the clients to get a nice finish that coordinated with the wide plank oak floors. The smooth paneled doors and drawers lean towards the contemporary style of design and the long chrome handles add to that vibe. Another contemporary feature is the stainless steel small format backsplash. This creates a moment of excitement and reflects all of the natural light beautifully. We're beyond pleased with the outcome.
Feel free to stalk the house when it comes on the market in a few weeks! Come on a clear day, the views are better than Griffith Observatory! Seriously... :)
